Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie had their itineraries and entry credentials arranged for the fourth and fifth Tests "a full year in advance", hoping to witness a historic English victory.

Sadly, they've observed Australia dismantle the tourists in just a short period from their house in their hometown.

"People in the office has been giving me grief regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," commented one sibling.

"We always thought that we would have the series on the line upon our arrival."

Lowered Expectations

There was plenty of positivity regarding the team's prospects of ending their 15-year wait for a victory down under prior to the first ball.

Yet now they are looking at the possibility of prolonging a streak without victory in the country to 19 games when the next match starts in the MCG on Christmas Day.

The tourists - and their supporters - will be keen to prevent a clean sweep.

One sibling noted the "thrill and enjoyment" of head coach the aggressive 'Bazball' approach in recent times had "reinvigorated" Test cricket for England fans.

But the Ryding siblings said they had realistic outlooks for the remaining matches - and all they are asking for from the players is "a bit of fight".

"All analysts points it out, but it all is about psychological strength. 'This style has been turned into a buzzword now that is just, like, impractical batting," commented another sibling.

"During a long match, you should dig in. Chasing balls 'sixth stump' areas has not been part of the textbooks, and that is primarily due to the frontline batsmen."

Looking Ahead

When questioned if he believed England will secure a victory in the current series, one fan responded: "It looks like the Aussies are just too good currently."

"It will require several individuals that stands up for England and produces a match-winning display."

Despite the scoreline, the fans are anticipating the trip.

"We are going to have a wonderful trip nonetheless," said Katie. "We have to go with that attitude."

"Of course, it's unfortunate we aren't fighting for more, but we have spent so much money by now."

"We plan to savor celebrating the holidays out there. It is also a new experience for us traveling during the festive period."

An educator, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her seasonal break.

"As a backup plan, there's always golf to fall back on," she added.
